About Rescue Organisations

Not all rescue Organisations are the same. Its important when preparing to adopt a Pug that you do your homework, which is why we provide so much information to prospective new Pug Parents, but the homework the rescue Organisation does is equally important.

It takes time and personal attention to evaluate each Pug and its needs, then match it to those of a new owner. It takes careful attention to the Pug to evaluate health problems that can and should be dealt with prior to being placed.

Pugs have different personalities; some like boisterous environments and suite bigger more hectic families. Some Pugs are couch potatoes, or have a history that has led them to be scared of sudden movements, noises or crowds of people. All these things need time and personal attention to the Pug itself.

At Pugadise we house each Pug within our home environment for a period of time so we can properly evaluate its needs. We see to health problems, like decaying teeth, umbilical hernias, and of course de-sexing. Only after a proper evaluation of the Pug do we suggest it for placement into a home suited to it.

When dealing with Rescue Organisations please ensure that they are not just acting as dog brokers who learn of a dogs availability then offer to sell it for a cut of the money. Often these dog brokers front as Rescue Organisations who never see the poor Pug, and only care about the availability of their 'commission'.
