Code of Ethics

  1. Pugadise will ensure that all dogs under our care and control will be properly housed, fed, watered, and receive veterinary attention as and when required. 
  2. Pugadise will never breed any surrendered dogs. 
  3. Pugadise will ensure that prior to re-homing every dog is de-sexed, unless this is against explicit veterinary advice. 
  4. Pugadise will ensure that 100% of any monies raised by its activities will be spent directly on the care of Pug dogs or activities directly related to their welfare. 
  5. Pugadise will never subject surrendered Pug dogs to training they are unsuited to, or for any role other than that of domestic pets. Pugadise will never knowingly transfer a Pug into the role of ‘working’ or ‘assist’ dog. 
  6. Pugadise will never knowingly reveal the names of those who surrender dogs unless legislation requires it. 
  7. Pugadise will keep records on all Pugs surrendered and re-homed. Pugadise will take all reasonable steps to keep such records secure. 
  8. Pugadise will do their best to ensure that every prospective new owner clearly understands their responsibility for the care and welfare of the animal prior to placement and that they have the resources to perform their obligations. 
  9. Pugadise will never knowingly transfer any dog to commercial dog wholesalers, retail pet dealers, research facilities, or any person acting as an agent for them. 
  10. Pugadise will never attempt to misrepresent the characteristics of the Pug breed when communicating with the public or prospective new owners. 
  11. Pugadise will operate according the legislation relating to companion dog ownership in the state of New South Wales Australia. 
  12. Pugadise will endeavor to fully inform new owners about their prospective Pugs current health status. Pugadise will never knowingly transfer a Pug to a new owner with undisclosed health problems.
